The Saga of our Store Room Turned Pantry

Once upon a time, there was a long, skinny store room in our house. It had two shelves along one side that were 24 inches deep and 8 feet long and they were good only for stacking things that you didn't want to get to very often.

The time came that Garth decided he had had enough and he tore out the shelves and drew some plans for a more efficient storage place for our bottled food, storage bins, and other things we wanted to store there.

The first thing we wanted a place for was the wheat grinder so he build its stand first in a place where it would be handy to use.

On the left he built the shelves to hold the bottled fruit, etc. and on the right the shelves were deeper and further apart.

After such beautiful work, I agreed that the least I could do was to paint the shelves. It turned out to be a very big job taking most of 3 days of painting but they look beautiful.

Here is the finished project just waiting to be filled.

In spite of needing the time to get ready to leave first thing tomorrow morning, we just had to see how it all fil.

I am sooooo excited to have my bottles at my finger tips instead of in boxes where I had to go digging and lifting every time I wanted something.

Thank you Garth for a beautiful pantry!
