Better safe than sorry

So now you know why I haven't posted anything for the past month. MY COMPUTER CRASHED! and I lost everything on my hard drive. Fortunately, I had done some backups but just not recent ones. I have spent all week trying to search through my discs to restore whatever pictures and documents that I could find. I did pretty well with my pictures but some documents are gone forever. FROM HERE ON I AM GOING TO BACK UP AT THE END OF EVERY WORK SESSION, IF POSSIBLE.
We have been home nearly 2 weeks and will return to LaVerkin this Saturday and will be there for July 4th.

PROOF THAT MY MOTHER DOESN'T NEED A BEDROOM

I just thought you might like to see my mother's "bed". She not only sits in this chair in the living room all day but brings out her things and makes it her bed at night.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

We returned home in time to celebrate Father's Day with the rest of our family in the Provo area. What great fathers we have in this family! We gathered at our home in
Springville for a Fathers' Day dinner. Pictured are: Garth, Deren, Sam & Guy.

GARTH'S FATHER'S DAY GIFT

Garth is proudly showing a new Compound Miter Saw that he got with a gift card and some money that he got for his birthday and Fathers' Day. He has put it to good use this past week when he built a "house" to cover the compressor for our air conditioning system because overripe fruit and leaves were falling into it. I told him I thought it was a bit "over kill" but he said he wanted it strong enough and tall enough to be able to pick apricots from.

We enjoyed a great visit today from Marenda and Addie on Thursday of this week

and a chance to tend the Harding boys while their parents went to the temple on Tuesday.
We were amazed to see Mitchell Harding's (nearly 9 months old) new ability to get around and get the things he wants. He keeps his grandparents on the go keeping up with him, to say nothing of the other 3 boys.

For all of you who remember Grandma's lot as it used to be, we will bring pictures of the demolition of the hill behind the house that we all loved so much.

Till then - Keep Smiling and have a great week!

Birthdays and Barbecue 6-2 to 6-8

It has been great to be back at our own home for this past week. One of the first things we did was to purchase this lovely barbecue grill from Home Depot with the money our children gave me for my birthday and Mother's Day. Thank you all so much!!! We love it!

Our first time to use it was on June 3rd when we hosted a family gathering in celebration of Trina's birthday and Marenda's belated birthday. It is always wonderful to have time with our family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRINA!
(and Happy Anniversary Kerali & Brian in India.)

Fun in Prescott - May 26-28

Becky and Bill Halterman were good enough to invite us and their grandchildren to spend the Memorial weekend with them in Prescott. It was a welcome relief from the Phoenix heat and we appreciated the grandparent ratio to the children. Kira and Trenton loved being able to jump on the trampoline, shoot the rocket, hunt cactus & swing (not pictured), ride on the ATV's, put together puzzels, play with the toys and have the full attention of 4 doting grandparents.

On Sunday Becky curled Kira's hair and Kira wore the dress Becky had made for her and the children went to church with the Haltermans while Garth and I attended Iron Springs Ward and enjoyed seeing many of our friends and Ward members from Prescott.

Monday morning we had breakfast with the Langes at Granite Gate Retirement home before returning to Phoenix. Alice is looking great and she showed us a number the "Sitsters" were doing that day for the people at their retirement Center. She loves being around lots of people and having opportunities to perform and be involved.

Fun in Phoenix with Kira and Trenton

Kendra and Barry said goodbye to us then it was just the children and the two of us. Since she couldn't go to Hawaii, Kira found a palm tree of her own.

Kira and Trenton at the Splash Park - a must in the Phoenix heat.
Kira, trying not to get wet. Trenton just enjoying the water.

Trenton with the sand toy we gave him. He is playing in their back yard.

Kira chose this lovely outfit for herself. She decided she needed to make a "swing" for her little animal.

Look out Papa or I will get you!

The next listing will be our trip to Prescott over Memorial Day

GREETINGS FROM THE HANSENS

After a lot of prodding and encouragement from some of our children, we have decided to give this a try in order to better stay in touch with those we love.

We will start with my birthday. Since I share my birthday with my Aunt Ardella, I invited her to our family dinner on the Thursday I was in LaVerkin (May 17th) I was born on her 18th birthday.

The next celebration came on my actual birthday when we were in Phoenix with Kendra, Barry and children. I got a birthday breakfast, a treasure hunt that provided some wonderful gifts from all of the family, a birthday cake and I was taken out to Applebees for lunch. I was treated very well. Thanks to all of you who contributed.

OK SO I'VE TRIED. This doesn't look at all like I wanted it to look. If any of you have any suggestions how to navigate this program better so that the format looks better please let me know. It seems this program has a mind of its own and keeps putting the pictures and the text in strange places.
