Hansen Girls' Get-away 11/24/10

Serena & Blair came to Utahfrom Michigan, Kendra, Barry & family came from Phoenix, Arizona and Shanda, Preston and their children came from Colorado for Thanksgiving. The sisters decided they needed some "Girl time" so they invited the adult granddaughters and met at our house for the evening and ended up all spending the night.

Sleep-over for Addie and Kasen -11/11/10

In November Marenda asked if we could have Addie and Kasen come over Friday evening and spend the night and most of Saturday with us to allow them to make a doll house and set of blocks and a box for Kasen for Christmas.

We happily agreed and enjoyed these two lovely children very much. With Thanksgiving approaching, we decided to do some Thanksgiving activities. With a little help from Kasen Addie and I made these 5 Thanksgiving paper sack puppets.

The children wanted to get outside so Garth took them out and raked up leaves for them to enjoy.

Janice even got into the act.

Halloween 2010

Our Halloween activities started on Monday, Oct. 25th when Trina, Guy and their children joined us for dinner then pumpkin carving.

Sheridan, Caleb, Trina, Marcus, Shanda and Talia are all working to make some creative Jack-o-Lanterns.

Trina he helping Caleb with his giant pumpkin. Marcus is "waving".

Shanda carves as Talia supervises.

Marcus displays his finished product. I'm not sure what it is but it is pretty scary!

Caleb shows his mother's beautiful handiwork.

Sheridan is still hard at work with his creation.

Shanda and Talia proudly show off "Jack" from "Nightmare Before Christmas". No those are not Mickey Mouse ears. It is Preston working in the background.

Preston displays his beautiful Jack-o-lantern.

Jasper Hickman (nearly 3 months old) is a very patient little guy but is reaching his limit.

Our Family Halloween Party was held Friday, October 29th at our place. Shanda led some activities for the children and one of them was the Mummy contest. I'm glad I wasn't the judge. Which one would you pick?

Drake and Addie finish up their creation. Who could it be?

Marcus is working on his mummy.

Addie is busy at work on mummifying Kasen.

TIME FOR FOOD!

Talia (elephant) and Addie (Snowhite) are ready to eat.

Take a look at the menu. It's self explanatory.

SOME OF THE COSTUMES

Trysten Reynolds as Ariel from "Little Mermaid"

Shanda and I even dressed up. I am Pocahontas and Shanda is Wonder Woman. Her father said she was definitely Wonder Woman to be able to keep 3 preschoolers happy and healthy.

I made the costumes for my two beautiful granddaughters.
Kalen is Belle from "Beauty and the Beast".

I had hoped to get everyone in costume who wore them but by the time I had served the meal, a lot of the costumes were off.

I made Mitchell Harding's costume for his birthday. Isn't he an adorable bat? Happy Halloween, Everyone!
